Description of Information Sought

Sir,

Media reports from June 2014 when the BJP Govt was formed and Shri Jaitley was appointed Raksha Mantri and was subsequently Shri Manohar Parrikkar assumed charge as RM, a series of meetings have been held with Ex-servicemen organisations, notably Indian Ex-servicemen Movement (IESM) on 5th September 2015.

2. Please provide me information as defined in Section 2 (f) of the RTI Act 2005, including file notings, minutes of discussions and deliberations with IESM and later with IESL (Indian Ex-Servicemen League).

3. As the matter is already in public domain through print and TV media, MoD is requested not to claim privilege under Section 8 of the RTI Act, 2005. MoD may also note that disclosure of the discussions may lay to rest in the minds of 125 crore Indians as to where exactly the problems lie. The disclosure may be to the advantage of the Govt to correct any erroneous picture formed by 30 lakh ESM and widows of ESM.

4. To avoid delay please communicate the additional costs for photocopies of the information.
